Thank you for visiting our day play page!

The Tranquil Dog day play program is the most relaxed and fun place your dog can spend a day.  The goal is to offer a safe place for dogs to play together and enhance their social skills.  The attendance is limited to 10 to 14 dogs in total so dogs can enjoy a fun day WITHOUT THE STRESS OF OVERCROWDING and is overseen by the owner, canine behavior specialist and trainer Sara Baxter.

What does a day at play camp look like?

When guests arrive in the morning (drop off begins at 7:15am and they must be picked up by 6:00pm) they will be allowed to settle in the kennel room.  This is chill out and digest breakfast time.  During this time dogs will be monitored for health to be sure everyone is feeling their best.  (There are cardboard dividers between each kennel as a precaution.  It looks ugly but it keeps noses apart.) If a dog shows illness, she/he will be removed immediately from the kennel room and quarantined while awaiting pickup.  Before play time starts, the area will be disinfected.

Steve Irwin is modeling the roomy 5×10 introduction kennel for new dogs that may be feeling unsure about being here.  When play begins at around 9:00 am, dogs will be allowed to approach the kennel and introduce themselves without the new dog feeling trapped in a crate.

The dogs will have access to three different play rooms.  Depending on the group these rooms can be left open or closed off to create smaller groups.  At mid-day the dogs are returned to the kennels where they can rest for an hour or so and have a drink or lunch if needed.  Afternoon play begins around 1:30 and continues until around 4:30.

There is a large outdoor play yard for potty breaks, sunbathing and playing.  It is fenced with six-foot tall wooden fencing installed to prevent climbing or jumping out.  Dogs will never be left unattended for any reason when they are outside.

Every effort is made to keep your dog safe and healthy during their time here at Tranquil Dog.  You can feel confident that all clients are held to these rules of safety:

  1. Dogs that are ill or injured are not allowed to play
  2. All dogs participating in day play are dog friendly.  Initiating fights will result in removal and will not be allowed to return.
  3. Dogs must be spayed and neutered at appropriate ages to participate.  (It is understood that the recommended age for males to be neutered is one year. Because good social skills need to begin before that dogs will be evaluated on a case by case basis and only allowed to play with spayed females and other male dogs)
  4. All vaccinations must be current and include Bordetella

Full day of play is $30

Half day of play is $22

You may also purchase a 5 day package for $135
